This was exciting to read and I kept saying "Just one more chapter". I couldn't put it down. I had to force myself to stop reading and go to bed, well after 1:00 AM. Well written and Blake Pierce is my newest Favorite Author! I have read 7 of his books... All the same captivating writing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a fast read, and definitely had plenty of suspense. My issue, and the reason I chose to give it 4 stars, is that there are so many typographical errors— missing words, lots of instances where the character name was meant to be Keri, but was written/printed as Ashley, etc.— that I grew annoyed and wondered (hoped?) whether the author was so excitedly writing that he/she hurried through without looking back. Definitely should have been caught in editing!

This book kept me up until after 3:00 a.m. to finish it. Once I started it, I couldn’t stop until I finished it. It is riveting! I rarely give a book a 5-star rating, but A Trace of Death definitely deserves it.

I am writing this having just finished the series, reason being that once I finished this book, I had to start book two immediately. Blake Pierce has perfected the difficult task of placing you right into the scene. He/she makes it to where you are waking right along Keri but also watching the action from a birds eye view. The characters and scenery are very well described.

So many typos

I have read all of the McKenzie White series and all of the Avery Black series. I was trying to keep track of all the mistakes but got frustrated with it. The book I just finished had many errors as well. One that sticks out is the scene where keri hit walker with the microphone; it read Ashley and not Keri.. I will continue with this series but will be hesitant to recommend or buy more of these books.

I really don’t like the main character in the book. She’s a psychotic cop with a gun that should not have gotten away with a lot of things she did. Finally at he end of the book she realized she NEED MENTAL HELP. I hope book two would be better. I know I want be reading it.

I’ve enjoyed two other series by this author, and I will continue with this series too. I only hope the editors, proofreaders and beta testers will catch some of the errors before I read the next one. I don’t know how nobody noticed the victims name (Ashley) being used in lieu of the detectives name (Keri) for example, in chapter 26.

If you've read any of her books, the main character is a tough, don't follow the rules woman. But does the heroine always have to end up in the hospital after saving the day??? For once, I'd like to read about her strong characters saving the day and walking away unscathed. Predictable.

The author takes us on a thrilling yet exhausting ride with a Missing Persons detective trying to solve the disappearance of a teen-aged girl from a prominent family. I read it in one sitting. There are a few editing omissions when the victim's name is used to refer to the detective but it is clear that it was an error and didn't cause confusion

I only hope the editors, proofreaders and beta testers will catch some of the errors before I read the next one. I don’t know how nobody noticed the victims name (Ashley) being used in lieu of the detectives name (Keri) for example, in chapter 26.

The author takes us on a thrilling yet exhausting ride with a Missing Persons detective trying to solve the disappearance of a teen-aged girl from a prominent family. I read it in one sitting. There are a few editing omissions when the victim's name is used to refer to the detective but it is clear that it was an error and didn't cause confusion

This book was a fast read, and definitely had plenty of suspense. My issue, and the reason I chose to give it 4 stars, is that there are so many typographical errors— missing words, lots of instances where the character name was meant to be Keri, but was written/printed as Ashley, etc.— that I grew annoyed and wondered (hoped?) whether the author was so excitedly writing that he/she hurried through without looking back. Definitely should have been caught in editing!

I am writing this having just finished the series, reason being that once I finished this book, I had to start book two immediately. Blake Pierce has perfected the difficult task of placing you right into the scene. He/she makes it to where you are waking right along Keri but also watching the action from a birds eye view. So many typos

I have read all of the McKenzie White series and all of the Avery Black series. I was trying to keep track of all the mistakes but got frustrated with it. The book I just finished had many errors as well. One that sticks out is the scene where keri hit walker with the microphone; it read Ashley and not Keri.. I will continue with this series but will be hesitant to recommend or buy more of these books.

I really don’t like the main character in the book. She’s a psychotic cop with a gun that should not have gotten away with a lot of things she did. Finally at he end of the book she realized she NEED MENTAL HELP. I hope book two would be better. I know I want be reading it.

I am writing this having just finished the series, reason being that once I finished this book, I had to start book two immediately. Blake Pierce has perfected the difficult task of placing you right into the scene. He/she makes it to where you are waking right along Keri but also watching the action from a birds eye view. The characters and scenery are very well described.

Murder mystery

Very exciting mm I realised about midway in I had read before but read it again because it was so good. That is unusual for me, once I’ve figured out the mystery I’m usually over it but this author held my interest again! That is some recommendation!

So many typos

I have read all of the McKenzie White series and all of the Avery Black series. I was trying to keep track of all the mistakes but got frustrated with it. The book I just finished had many errors as well. One that sticks out is the scene where keri hit walker with the microphone; it read Ashley and not Keri.. I will continue with this series but will be hesitant to recommend or buy more of these books.

I really don’t like the main character in the book. She’s a psychotic cop with a gun that should not have gotten away with a lot of things she did. Finally at he end of the book she realized she NEED MENTAL HELP. I hope book two would be better. I know I want be reading it.

I’ve enjoyed two other series by this author, and I will continue with this series too. I only hope the editors, proofreaders and beta testers will catch some of the errors before I read the next one. I don’t know how nobody noticed the victims name (Ashley) being used in lieu of the detectives name (Keri) for example, in chapter 26.

Expected for Blake Pierce

If you've read any of her books, the main character is a tough, don't follow the rules woman. But does the heroine always have to end up in the hospital after saving the day??? For once, I'd like to read about her strong characters saving the day and walking away unscathed. Predictable.

The author takes us on a thrilling yet exhausting ride with a Missing Persons detective trying to solve the disappearance of a teen-aged girl from a prominent family. I read it in one sitting. There are a few editing omissions when the victim's name is used to refer to the detective but it is clear that it was an error and didn't cause confusion
